• Day : 1 ARRIVAL AT SRINAGAR & SHIKARA RIDE

  Meet our representative at Srinagar airport, transfer to hotel / Houseboat. In the evening, shikara ride in world famous dal lake.

• Day : 2 SRINAGAR TO KARGIL VIA SONMARG (205 KMS)

  After an morning tea and sumptuous breakfast ,drive to one of the most exhilarating and beautiful drive in the world ,Srinagar to Leh via Kargil and road passes through the panoramic village to reach Sonmarg (2740 mtrs) , which folllows up with lush green fileds on both the sides After Sonmarg the road is mostly rough and wet to Zojila pass 3527 mtrs (Gateway of Ladakh) mostly covered with snow and the drive continue towards Drass (the second coldest inhibited place in the world) were we stop for refreshments and passport check. Another few hours drive will take us to Kargil (2710 mtrs) which is our mid way to Leh.

• Day : 3 KARGIL TO LEH (VIA LAMAYURU)

  A full day drive, a transition from green valleys to barren stark mountains of Ladakh.Today we ascend few passes and experience the first Buddhist village Mulbek , the gaint statue of Matreyabuddha , believed to be naturally existed . We cross the highest pass (Fotula 4166 mtrs.) reaching Lamayuru village and have our lunch and later we will be at Lamayuru oldest Monastery. Continue drive through the lower valleys of ladakh( shyam ) with crossing village like basgo ,Nimu a view of Zanskar River following into Indus and the confluence and ultimately we reach Leh (3500 mtrs).

• Day : 4 LEH LOCAL SIGHTSEEING (INDUS VALLEY)

  Post Breakfast we proceed for Indus Valley Monastery Starting with Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism, Thiksey Monastery an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village, Shey Palace, The ancient capital of Ladakh, 3 Idiots Rancho School & Sindhu Ghat. After visiting the above places we drive back to Leh. Evening at leisure to explore the city on your own. Post lunch , in the afternoon  visit to Leh Palace

• Day : 5 LEH TO NUBRA VALLEY (125 KMS/5-6 HRS APPROX ONE WAY)

  After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley (Known as the Valley of Flowers and the warmest region in Ladakh) via Khardungla pass. This road is considered to be the highest motorable road of the world. En route, admire the spectacular views of the never-ending snow-capped mountain ranges around Khardungla Pass (18,390 feet) After spending some time at Khardungla, proceed to Nubra. You can also visit Diskit Monastery before the Hunder village After Hotel check-in, enjoy Camel Safari on your own in the evening.

• Day : 6 HUNDER – TURTUK – HUNDER (82 KMS – 3 HRS ONE WAY)

  After an early breakfast we drove to Turtuk, and a lot of other small villages, which were brought under Indian control after the 1971 war, when the Indian army pushed the Pakistani soldiers past the mountains towering the Nubra Valley. Turtuk lies at the extreme corner of the Indian border, and hence its accessibility is a challenge. Due to treacherous roads and sensitive army base camps, permits were not issued to Indian civilians until late 2010.

   

  Although the roads are marred by landslides and shooting stones, the 3 hour drive from Hunder to Turtuk is nothing less than exceptional. Throughout the journey, one has the company of Shyok, as well as the vistas, that define the barrenness which is characteristic to Ladakh. After visiting we drive back to our camp or Hotel in Hunder for Overnight stay.

• Day : 7 NUBRA TO PANGONG VIA SHYOK (130 KMS/5-6 HRS APPROX ONE WAY)

  We will start the day following the same route towards Leh till we reach Khalsar. From the Agyam bridge, we will take the left route which leads us to the villages of Shyok and Durbuk. The route is scarcely used for commuting so you will not find any heavy traffic on any day. Some patches are bad but the experience will be great. The road after Shyok is good but very steep. After Durbuk, take left towards Tangtse and follow the traditional route. Drive further to Pangong Lake one of the largest and most beautiful natural brackish lakes in the Himalayas. Situated at 14000 ft, more than half of the lake is within Chinese Territory and only one third part lies in India. Explore the lake area, might catch some rare wildlife.

• Day : 8 PANGONG LAKE TO LEH (140 KMS/5-6 HRS APPROX ONE WAY)

  After breakfast, travel back to Leh. En route, take a short halt at Changla Pass to enjoy a cup of hot steaming tea.And also visit to Hemis Monastery, 3-Idiots School , Shey Palaceand  return back to Leh.
